Ann,
I was going to say that it's really nice to find another relative when I hit the wrong key. Have you looked at the 1830 and 1840 TN censuses for James? There were quite a few children. James and Mary were about the same age and I haven't found anything to lead me to believe they were ever married to anyone other than each other. There were several children according to a note left by my great grandmother. Some were Jarret CLARKSON (Greek and Latin scholar), Nelson (lawyer), Madison, Washington, Hannah (poss. married a Mr. BERRY), Louisa (m. James WALKER), and Elizabeth. I don't know what happened to David or Amanda P., do you? Anxious to hear from you.
