My great grandmother, Rutha Ann (CLARKSON) MARTIN, wrote some notes on a piece of paper concerning our genealogy. It said siblings of Ezekiel Camel CLARKSON were Jarret (Greek and Latin scholar), Nelson (lawyer), Madison, Washington, Louisa, Hannah and Elizabeth. There was a Hannah who I think was ours who married a Mr. BERRY. Louisa m. James WALKER. That's about all I know. Grandma MARTIN died in 1968 and was always talking about family. One of my grandmother's double 1st cousins lives in Balch Springs, TX outside of Dallas. Her name is Annie Opal. Her father was a younger brother of Grandma MARTIN. His name was Frank CLARKSON, who also discussed a lot of family with Annie Opal, and he married Birdie Lee BETTERTON, d/o Harvey BETTERTON. Harvey BETTERTON was b/o my gg grandmother Centha Caroline "Carrie" BETTERTON who married Clement Hathaway CLARKSON. Clem died in Vernon, Wilbarger, TX in 1946. Carrie, Grandma CLARKSON as I called her, died in 1959 in Vernon. I have 2 gg aunts still living in their 90s on the CLARKSON side. One is in MS with one of her daughters and isn't doing so well after having broken her hip. I'm also at a deadend. I've been looking for CLARKSON researchers on James and Mary for 13 years. Ezekiel was my ggg grandfather. They were in Tuscaloosa, AL in 1870, another cousin recently discovered. He left Collin Co. during the Civil War and went back to TN to join the CSA, then to AL, then back to Collin Co. Are you descended from Ezekiel and Emily IRONS? I have Rutha HORNERs ancestry pretty far back if you're from that line of descent, but you probably would, too.
