I am looking for my husband's Clarkson ancestors which his family have been very ellusive about. I did learn that his great- grand father was Clement Clyde Clarkson who was born in KY (Unknown CO.) and that his widowed mother moved to St.Louis MO. According to the 1900 Census, the family there consisted of Josephine Clarkson , Widow, age 61, born in KY as were both parent; Abrian B. Clarkson, age 31, her widowed son also born in KY as were both of his parents and Jesse Clarkson, age 13, Josephine's Grand daughter also born in KY. It also states that Josaphine had had 7 children of whom 3 were still living. Clement Clyde, her son, had died by this time. All of this matches what the family had told me. They also mention an uncle Abraham and that there were Methodist ministers in the family. What was Josaphine's husband's given name and where in KY did they come from?
