My great grandfather was John Clarkson who was married to Elisabeth Penman. I have not found out John's actual birth yet but I thought it was in 1858/9. From his death certificate it records his father was William Clarkson and his mother was Grace Thomson. This is where I get lost a bit. However John's youngest daughter was Grace Frood Clarkson. This leads me to think Grace Thomson's real name was Frood.Looking at the 1841 census, a young Grace Frood aged 7 was living with a John Thomson aged 30 and another Grace Frood aged 65. Could John Thomson be her father? I don't know but I will try and find out more unless you can help. I have just started but I am a little bit stuck at this part. Any help you can give me would be appreciated.
