Have you not been able to locate either of them on the 1870 or 1880 KY censuses? What info do you get on the censuses you do find them on? Were they brothers? Were their parents from TN? Our family in Jefferson Co., TN in early 1800s had a Nelson CLARKSON who was a lawyer. I don't have any idea when he was born, just that he was grown and away from the family by 1850. My great grandmother wrote that he was a brother to Ezekiel Camel CLARKSON, b. 1829 in Jefferson Co., TN or Hawkins. He also had siblings named Jarret (a Greek and Latin scholar), Hannah (prob. married Mr. BERRY), Elizabeth, Louisa (m. James WALKER), Melissa (m. Wesley DOGGETT), Washington, Madison, and Amanda P., b. 1840. Their parents were James and Mary ? CLARKSON. Any similarities?
