Please note the Clark generation I have pasted with the Baylis name intertwined with the Clarks.I don't come through Benjamin and Rhoda but through Benjamin's brother John Clark who left VA for Spartanburg SC.I do know that Rhoda's parents, Judge Baylis Earle and Mary Prince left VA for SC.As you see below Rhoda and Benjamin left for KY and TN but the Baylis name is used for one of their sons.I have been corresponding with a Susan Johanssen who is researching the Baylis Clark line in Anderson, SC.She and I believe there must be a connection but can find the direct link.

Christian Co., KY).They moved to KY abt. 1798.Rhoda was the daughter of Judge Baylis Earle & Mary Prince of VA & SC.The Earles during this era were wealthy landowners and married into wealthy families. Rhoada was his last child born in Virginia before the family moved on to North and South Carolina. Rhoada and her husband Benjamin Clark lived for awhile in Spartanburg County and then moved to Christian County, Ky.There is record of his father in law, Baylis Earle, deeding Spartanburg Co. land to Benjamin’s brother John Clark in 1791.Also Spartanburg land deed record from Benjamin & Rhoda Clark to Mary Clark, witnessed by John Clark on Aug. 13, 1792.
