Thomas Bottom and John Clarke connection??
Posted by: Renea Burkholder (ID *****9076) Date: April 27, 2009 at 14:56:05

On 3 December 1714, John Clarke of Henrico County, VA sold to Thomas Bottom 60 acres on the south side of the James River for 3 pounds. This land is described as joining "a tract fromerly given to Thomas Bottom by said John Clarke, at the head of Reedy branch". Why would John Clarke have given land to Thomas Bottom. I have not yet found a record of this gift. Does this indicate a relationship between Thomas and John? Is the wife of Thomas Bottom a daughter of John Clarke? What are your ideas, theories, known facts? Are the children of this John Clarke known? Thanks for any help!
