I think you are right--on the 1910 Census it shows Evalina as 2nd wife and that they had been married 10 years and she had 3 children.
The 1900 Census showed her as May E and listed all the other children. I thought that her age was wrong on the census because she wasn't old enough to be mother of the three older ones--but what I didn't look at was number of years married. And sure enough it shows they had married in 1900.
My James didn't seem to have any relatives in GA. At least none we can connect him to. Your James was born long after my James and my James son James was my G grandfather and he went from GA to TN and on to TX.So I'm sure there is no connection.
