Local Matters
Geo. E.A. Clark, of Batavia, an old printer, formerly of MauchChunk,Pa., but now employed as jour printer in the Batavia News office, called on us Sunday last. Mr. Clark has been a printer for nearly forty years, and is the oldest typo on the river. He was also a soldier in the Mexican war, and has just been awarded a pension of $75 per year. He says he would enjoy himself in Batavia, but for the miserable boys who are so saucy, and who hector the life nearly out of him. We would advise him to load Pete Anderson's steps with dynamite, some fine day, and thus insure himself from further insults, and everlastingly benefit the town of Batavia.
