Hi Cuz,
Well I have some information on mary Susanna barnes side, her sister applied for for and lived in Indian territory, even though my great grandmother Lucienda did not, she lived in the sandhills and I suppose most did not want people to know, I don't know, we knew but people in area came and would get medicine and other items from my great grand parents. My dad would go with grandpa and picked wild herbs and according to my dad, he thought grandpa had lost it because they were out looking for weeds and wild plants. Susanna barnes father was Henry d Barnes, his father was Alfonzo ow barnes, his father was John Barnes and he was full blood indian and AOW Barnes wife was Sophronie maiden name was Gardner and her father John was full blood cherokee.I am still searching because aunt Bell said that Sophronie and AOW were distant cousins bth born in New York and I wonder if they french indian, she tells the Commissioner of Indian affairs that they did not come on a boat with the emigrants, they were the old settlers and lived here.Still searching though.Do you have any old photos of the family, either the clark or Barnes side.
