St. Charles (Ill.) Chronicle Feb. 5, 1920 Mrs. Jessie Ferson Clark Mrs. Henry B. Clark, nee Ferson, ws the youngest daughter of James and Mary Brown Ferson, pioneers from Vermont to St. Charles. Her early life, until her marriage, was spent between St. Charles and Chicago. She was possessed of an especially refined, trained alto voice and was always sought in musical circles. After her marriage to Henry B. Clark in the year 1873, they moved to Rantoul, where they have resided since 1877. Mrs. Clark is survived by her husband, Henry B. Clark, who for many years was in the jewelry business in Rantoul and also by a son, ames F. Clark of Rantoul, and his three children, Elizabeth, Janis and HenryT., and her grandchildren, Bernice, Mildred, Paul and LeRoy, the children of her deceased daughter, Edna, the wife of Dr. W. J. The Ferson family, of which Mrs. Clark was a member, ws one of the pioneer families which settled in Kane county in the early day and was closely connected with the early history and development of St. Charles. Mrs. Clark’s father died quite early in life but her mother lived to the age of 96; they were the true type of the New England pioneer whose efforts in large measure contributed to the development of the Middle West.
