Yes, thank you for taking the time to post.
Unfortunately, this is not the connection I'm after. Both Clark and Hannah were exceedingly popular names and "Clark" was Hannah's maiden name.
Hannah Clark was b. 06 Sept 1820 in Montgomery Co., Ohio. She married William Haymond Robinson on 13 Dec 1840 in Fountain Co., Indiana.
I am trying to establish Hannah's parents.
"Family tradition" has it that Hannah was the daughter of Watson Clark, Sheriff of Harrison Co, (W) Virginia.
I have learned that a Watson Clark was a Sheriff of Harrison Co., (W) Virginia; however, that Watson Clark died in 1804, so could not possibly be the father of Hannah Clark (born in 1820).I've also found Harrison County Court records from 1809 that list the heirs of this same Watson Clark as: Noah Clark, Isaac Clark, Benjamin Nixon, Joanna Nixon, Abraham Clark, Nancy Clark, Solomon Clark, Sarah Clark, Watson Clark, William Clark, Wilson Clark.Perhaps the Watson Clark that was the father of Hannah Clark is the same Watson that was an heir to Watson Clark, Sheriff ... I do not know.
This one is such a puzzler for me and I'd certainly like to either bridge the gap between the two Watson's or establish that there is not direct relationship.
Again, any help or information along this line would be greatly appreciated.
