1937 - 1951 Sabine Transportation Company, Merrill Stevens and other companies - Duties: Machinist and engineer - worked both in the shipyards as foreman (from 1943 - 1945 running a crew of 75 to 100 men) in charge of installing engines during the war, and onboard ships as 2nd and 1st engineer in charge of engine and boiler rooms. (worked on turbine, diesel engines, reciprocating steam engines and pumps).

From 1948 - retirement - owned and operated a Grocery Store in Hilliard, FL
