I am actually trying to prove/disprove a connection between my DAVIS family and a CLARK family.
Lambert Watts Clark was born in VT in 1842. His family moved to Iowa in 1856, settling first in Clinton Co., then on to Boone (where he was still residing in 1914). He married Amelia DAVIS, Jan 20, 1862, in Clinton Co.
Children:
1. George L. b. Clinton Co., Iowa m. Cynthia
2. Elmer b. in Illinois m. Emma
3. Charlie
4. Jenny m. Mr. VICKROY
5. Effie m. Mr.SMITH
6. Francis S. m. Katie PANTIER
7. Alice (Allie)d. bef 1914
The last 5 children were born in Boone Co., Iowa.
My interest is with Amelia DAVIS. I found a birth record for a Permilia Davis, b. 1-19-1847 in Summit, Schoharie Co., NY, her parents are listed as Charles Davis and Maria. In the bio for Francis S. Clark, it states his mother, Amelia Davis, was born 1-19-1847 in NY but it doesn't list her parents. Neither Amelia nor Permilia is listed in the bio of my Charles Davis, though she was still living at the time it was written.
If anyone is connected to this Clark line and can shed some light on the parents of Amelia, I'd love to hear from you.
