Just goes to show, family history and old family Bibles are not always correct.
Campbell was in fact Rachel's maiden name. She married John L Nall on 14 Aug 1818 in Williamson County, TN. John died about 1846 in Davidson County, TN. Rachel first lived near her son, Elijah J Dotson Nall (enumerated as E J D Nall and Noll). She then lived with her widowed daughter Jane Nall Copley. I am assuming Rachel died before 1870. She was born about 1801/1802. The census in 1850 and 1860 stated she was from North Carolina, but everything I can find shows she was from South Carolina.
I have been able to find the Nall ancestry, so I will have to work on finding Rachel's Campbell ancestry. So one puzzle solved and another created.
Thanks again for your input as it was the correct assertion. Never hurts to have a fresh set of eyes.
