Ely moved to Mitchell Co. GA in the mid 1890s.His sister, Susie, and his mother, Mahala, moved to Mitchell Co. GA with him. Ely was my great-grandfather.
I am trying to prove that the Kidd and Morrow families are connected to James Clark. Two children William and Rebecca Jane were living in the household from 1850-1854 for William and after the 1870 census for Rebecca Jane when she married and moved to AL. These two were siblings. John Morrow was living with them on the 1850 census.
There are no records in Marion Co. GA on these people. The courthouse burned in 1846 and I belived some of the census of 1840 was damaged. They did not appear on the 1840 census. Also, there are no records of estate settlements, buying or selling of land, taxes, wills, burials, deaths, etc.Nothing.However, there are some old books in the courthouse that have not been examined and hopefully these have my family. The census records report them living in Marion Co. until they moved to Mitchell Co. GA in the 1890s.
