CLARK -- Edward Clark purchased CVI L18 Petworth in 1837 from Peter Valleau of Prince Edward County.
His wife's name was Mary, who could possibly be Mary Gordon of Kingston County who m. Edward Clark in 1825 (see Reid). He willed the property to his 2 oldest sons, George and Sidney. George later left the farm and moved to the USA.
Sidney still owned the property according to the 1873 atlas. Want to find the parents of Edward. Research has eliminated Robert Clark UE and Isabel Ketchum. An Edward in this line died single.
There is a family claim that Edward's father was named William, but there is no evidence to support this claim.
