John Clark's line named in 1815 Haywood Co,NC deed of John Tipton Ford
Trying to locate land in Haywood Co, NC (was Buncombe Co in 1800-1815 deeds) where my gr-gr-gr-grandfather John Tipton Ford lived. The deed mentions other names and landmarks but am hoping someone can tell me where the John Clark tract was located that's mentioned in this deed. It mentions John Clark's line as: "to the mouth of Clark's Branch at the river bank..." Other land deeds of John Tipton Ford identifies him as living mostly on the east side of the Pigeon River; but, he also purchased land on the West side of the Pigeon too. One deed mentions "...down the Pounding Mill branch to the river.." but the present day Pounding Mill Branch goes into Cold Spring Creek before the creek enters the Pigeon River near the Harmon Den exit off Interstate 40 near Waterville. I tend to believe that my John Tipton Ford's land was near Clyde/Canton, NC. Any help would be very appreciated. Willing to share all Ford and other line genealogy.
