We suspect that there is an Elijah Clark that is somehow related to a Parley W.C. Gates. This Parley was born in about 1800 according to census records and he married Betsey Saber. We believe this Gates family had a daughter named Irvilla. We are trying to find her parents. Parley W.C. Gates was born to a Clark Family. He was adopted in about 1814-1815 by Parley Clark and his wife, Ophra in Ontario County, NY, at which time they changed Parley Clark's name to Parley W. C. Gates. Parley W.C. Gates may have been born Parley Clark or Warren Clark or some other Clark. I suspect that Parley Clark's parents lived in CT before moving to NY or Parley W.C. Clark's. Also am interested in any Clarks that might have been Parley's parents. Any help will be deeply appreciated.

Marion
