St. Charles (Illinois) Chronicle, Nov. 3, 1905:
Card Game Brings Death.
Albert Nesch, 17 years old, shot and killed Joseph Fife Clark at Springfield. The boys had been friends for years. They were playing cards, and Nesch says that they had agreed that the first one caught cheating would be shot at with a revolver supposed to be unloaded. Nesch is under arrest awaiting a coroner's inquest.
