Jonathan Clark b. 1802 m. Elizabeth Andrews; Saratoga to Canada
Jonathan Clark and wife Elizabeth are found in Quaker records living in Haldimand Twp., Northumberland County, Ontario, Canada, 1830 - 1836.Jonathan apparently died "10th Mo 14th" of 1835, just before the birth of his son William Andres Clark on "2nd Mo 11th" 1836.
The couple had several other children, including:
Catherine Clark b. "5th Mo. 25th" 1830
Benedict Arnold Clark b. "3rd Mo. 31" 1832
Jonathan F. Clark b. "5th Mo. 1st" 1834
There is also a Freeman Clark and wife Deborah who had children during this same time period. It is likely that Freeman and Jonathan are brothers, but this isn't proven.
This Clark family may have come from the Saratoga, NY, area.
I am trying to learn more about Jonathan Clark's wife, Elizabeth.I believe she may be Elizabeth Andrews or Andrus. My gggrandfather, Palmer Andrus, was living in this same part of Northumberland County, Ontario, and is also mentioned in these Quaker records. Is there a connection???
I am interested in any information about the origins of Jonathan Clark, in particular the timetable for his family's migration to Ontario.Where did he meet Elizabeth Andrews?Where were they married?
Thanks for any help -
Judy
