Perry, I do not work often with the Clarks and some of the data is not in my computer. Information and court case given me my Mr Gann. William Clark (GF bn Va) father of William, Henderson, Jesse, Ruth , and John among others. Will 1803, ex 1807. Court case Clark vs Clark 4 Tn 23 (Tn Err and Ap)3 Hayw Tn 23, 3 younger children, Henderson-1784, Ruth bn aft 1780 and Wm bn aft 1780 unmarried in 1807. Numerous other children. (Not identified) It says that William is then 76 so bn 1731. The 1807 court case says that Nancy is the 2nd wife.
(Son Jesse's wife Nancy is bn @1772 but the name I have for William's first wife is Mary Ann (and this Nancy could be a nickname for Mary Ann bn @1760 and the age difference between the two could mean that she is a 2nd wife) and to make it more confusing Nancy is also the name of the wife of Jesse (bn 1759) who is the father of my Henderson Clark bn 1797 KY. Nancy/Mary Ann is the Mother of Henderson bn 1784, Ruth and Wm after 1780.)So in answer to your question> John Clark bn 1758 is the father of Barnes. I will look for the paper file this weekend. PS I also have a side note but not identified that "Elizabeth" is the first wife of Wm Clark of Va and mother of John and Jesse. What do you have? Plus my Jesse has one child in Ga, one in KY and several in the Washington Co, Tn area. Any ideas? Meredith
