I am looking for Patrick Clarey born in Ireland approx 1827. I don't know when he arrived in the US or when he married his wife, Bridget (d. 20 Oct 1878, Fairfield, Franklin, Vermont aged 51). He served in the Civil War with the Vermont Volunteers (I have his service record) and had two of the six children listed on the 1860 & 1870 census's survive him. John Edward Clarey (my gggrandfather, b. 1855, m. 1878, d. 1914) and James Clarey (b. abt 1859, d. abt 1914). John Edward married Nellie Northrop and James married an Ella Driscoll. Family lore has it that James was something of a Black Sheep and abandoned his wife and child. John Edward had believed his brother dead 20 yrs prior to his actual death and the brothers died within months of each other. Any information about Patrick, Bridget or James would be greatly appreciated.
