Daniel A. Clare, who married Mary B. Palmer, was a son of Allen Clare and Leah Foley. Allen Clare's brother, Daniel Clare, married Jane Hansford. Allen and Daniel were the two Clare brothers who went to Lincoln County, Missouri. Daniel went to Lincoln County in 1830. Allen followed in 1834. Allen's son, Daniel A. Clare, was born about 1812 in Kentucky, possibly Pulaski County, where Allen and his brother Daniel lived before moving to Lincoln County, Missouri.
Daniel A. Clare and Mary B. Palmer had a daughter, Clara Ellen Clare, who married Zachariah Gouch Jameson, son of William Jameson and Mahala Bruce. In the 1900 census, Mary B. (Palmer) Clare was widowed, living with Zachariah and Clara in Merced County, California. Mary appeared in the Jameson household again in 1910 in San Jose, California, but she is nowhere to be seen in 1920, so she probably died between those census years.
