Drew,
This is the info I have for William John W. Clardy, son of Byrd Clardy and Sarah L. Williams:

William John W. Clardy was born July 9, 1940 in Stafford, Pickens Co, AL and died June 25, 1895 in Pickens Co, AL.

From "Pickens Co, AL: History and Families" (1998), pg. 213:
Rev. W. John William Clardy was a Methodist preacher and farmer who served churches near Carrollton, in southern Lowndes Co, MS, and as far as Grenada, MS and back to near Maben. It was in Maben that his first wife, Mary A. (Williams ?) died on Aug. 2, 1874. He next married Matilda A. Peeks and went back up to Tabernacle Methodist Campgrounds and Church, northeast of Columbus, MS, where he died on June 25, 1895.

From "The History of Pickens Co, AL, 1540-1920," by James F. Clanahan:
W. J. W. Clardy fought with Company C, Alabama 41st in the Civil War.

Acc to Albert "Edd" Clardy:
William J. W. Clardy is buried in Tabernacle Cemetery, in Alabama, near the Mississippi state line.

I am a descendant of William's sister, Frances Elizabeth Clardy (Acker), and I have done very little research on William. I hope this info will help you.
