Hi Patsy,
You ask: "Do I understand correctly that you know where he (Thomas Clardy) is buried in Halifax Co. Va.? I'd love to know the name of the cemetery."

I'm sorry, I don't know where Thomas is buried. I've researched him simply because my ggggrandfather Wm T. Clarida has incorrectly appeared as a child of his on several researcher's family sheets. As the brother of Michael Clardy, Jr., (who is my gggggrandfather) Thomas Clardy is an uncle of mine. His son William married Ann Ferrell and had a will probated in Halifax Co VA starting in 1847 (Harrison Harbour and Jeremiah Clardy were "Admr" administrator?) Since my Elizabeth Clardy/Clarida (the daughter of Michael Clardy Jr. and Nancy Comer) married her "cousin with the same last name", I've tried to account for all 1st cousins with the name William. Michael Clardy Sr. had several sons that we know of: James Clardy Sr. who moved to Laurens Co SC (his son William married Mahala and died around 1832), Thomas, whose son William married Ann Ferrell Aug 3, 1830, and Michael Jr. It appears that Elizabeth didn't marry a first cousin, unless Michael had more sons that are not accounted for. If my Elizabeth married a second cousin, that would make Michael Clardy Sr. a brother to one of the other men mentioned (John, James or Benjamin) in the oldest records , something that has not been proven, yet. My William T. Clarida named his known children (in this order): Frances, WILLIAM HENRY, Sarah A., Vina, JAMES, JOHN, THOMAS, Elizabeth. The name of one daughter, born before 1830, is unknown. I'd welcome any information about "lost" Williams born around the early 1800's!
