William Hall may be William Hall of Halifax County, VA. In 1785 William Hall, Sr., William Hall, Jr., Robert Hall, Nathaniel Hall and John Hall sold their land in Halifax County, Virginia and dropped off both the land and personal tax digests. Robert and William (With no designation of Sr or Jr) then appear in deeds for land on Norths Creek. By 1790, Nathaniel, John and Robert along with Fenton Hall (who stayed in Halifax a few more years) all pop up on Rocky River near the Anderson - Abbeville County line. William does not show up in Pendleton District.

The deeds for Robert Hall tie together nicely. His wife Mary Hall released her dower rights in both Halifax, VA and Laurens, SC. When they sold their land in Laurens, SC, the dead recites they then resided in Pendleton, SC.

From what I have seen on the Internet, it looks like Dendy and Clardy researchers have tied the Hall's back to Mecklenburg, VA rather than Halifax, VA.

I would love to have more of your Hall research and will be happy to share mine.
