This is a sketch of the informaiton that I have.
George A. Clapsaddle (March 31, 1782-December 23, 1859) m. Anna 'Nancy' Bellinger (August 4, 1784-September 10, 1838) both b. German Flatts, Herkimer Co., NY.
Children are: Elizabeth, Jacobus, Maria, Petrus, George H., Andreas, Frederick, and Anna, all b. Herkimer Co., NY. Jacobus moved from Herkimer Co. to DuPage Co., IL while Maria (m. Jeremiah Terpening), George H., Andreas, Frederick, and Anna moved to DeKalb Co., IL. Elizabeth (m. Miles Terpening) moved to McLean Co., IL.
Jacobus Clapsaddle (May 20, 1808-April 14, 1895) m. Sarah E. Terpening (October 3, 1814-March 22, 1902) both b. in Herkimer Co., NY and buried in O'Brian Co., IA. Children are Kelburn, Jerome, Harriet, Phoebe Sophia, Jacob, George A., Mary, and Elvie.
Phoebe Sophia (February 26, 1843-?) m. George Cox (abt. 1843 - ?) December 3, 1860 in DuPage Co., IL. Sophia is buried in Delight, Pike Co., AK.
Note, the Terpenings are all siblings.
The info that I have on Sophia and George is limited to that above. If you need or want more on her parents and ancestors, I can supply that. I too am a descendant of George A. Clapsaddle and Nancy Bellinger. I would be happy to exchange information concerning any and all of his descendants.
