Civil War Record for John Clapper - Darke Co. - Allen Twp.
b. 12 January 1827 (would have been 38 in 1865)
d. 6 November 1885
Interred at Dutch Cemetery in Darke Co. Allen Twp.

Steve Russell reports the following research:
I found 18 John Clappers in the Union Army in the civil war. Some I eliminated by age and by death in the war and being in states other than Ohio and Indiana. The ones left as possibilities are:

John Clapper 11th Indiana Cavalry, no residence or age at enlistment;
John Clapper 134th. Indiana Infantry residence at enlistment: Henry County;
John Clapper 72nd. Ohio age 27 in 1861;

John N. Clapper age 36 at enlistment 5/2/1864 159th. Ohio Infantry.
