Hi Nancy, I am in possession of a book entitled THE LINEAGE OF THE BROTHERS, JOHN LUDWIG AND GEORGE VALENTINE CLAPP' copyrighted in 1963 by Richard E. Clapp. The work was published about ten years before I met him while working in the Bell System. In the Table of Contents, there is a Maria Barbara listed as appearing on page 47. Her listing on the referenced page indicates she born on December 17,1777; the daughter of John Ludwig Clapp III and Barbara Cortner. This is a German side of the Clapp family. The book is 83 pages long. E-mail me if you wish a copy. I have also sent a copy to Lisa (Clapp) Angelo at the Clapp Family Historical Society Site.
