Benjamin Nason's first wife a Clapp?

I have used ancestry.com, familysearch etc to try to find this information but has hit a wall.
Benjamin Nason b. Jun 1860 in Harrison, Maine to John Nason and Hattie Day.
By the 1900 census of Westbrook, Maine I find him as a widow with two children Mildred b. 1883 and Frank b. 1886 some where in Maine.
There is a divorced lady, Catherine L McDermott (Winch is the married name on the census) living in the same household. Benjamin Nason will marry Catherine 6 Jul 1907 in Portland, Maine.
I can not find who Benjamin's first wife was. Two names that have been considered are Clara Clapp and Elizabeth Bean. But no definitive information they married this specific Benjamin Nason.
Does anyone have proof that will connect a wife with this Benjamin Nason that had two children, Mildred and Frank?

Thank you in advance.
Sincerely,
Peter
