I am trying to find descendants of Isaac Clapp who was a Private in Company F, 53rd North Carolina Infantry and a Landsman in the Confederate States Navy during the war between the states. He was born in Alamance County in 1843 and died 8/11/1908. He is buried in Maplewood Cemetery in Durham, North Carolina. He and 42 other Confederate soldiers in two sections of the cemetery will be receiving new headstones. There will be a dedication ceremony in May of 2009.
