Clapp / Clamp DNA
Posted by: Terry Gladfelter (ID *****7898) Date: March 26, 2007 at 18:28:11

Just today Elma Clamp mailed his DNA kit. We are looking for a bonafide Clapp who will take the test to match against him. It would be nice to have a combined site for these 2 names and all their variants.

In SC everybody is a Clapp until the civil war and then miraculously they are all Clamps. This transformation occurs in the "Dutch Fork" of Newberry and Lexington Counties.

This test only traces the Y-Chromosome passed from father to son. Very simple and all done by mail. He is going through FTDNA. Their website is www.familytreedna.com. For more information you may contact Elma. ElmaClamp1@aol.com
or call FTDNA directly at 1-713-868-1438. Thanks, Terry
