Has anyone figured out the wife (wives) of Thomas Clapp 1609-1684. It looks like Abigail Wright was indeed a wife of Thomas Clapp, but did he have other wives. I have a note that says:
"When [Thomas] Clap's son Eleazer died in 1676 the papers dealing with the probate of his estate indicate that his only heirs by intestacy were his brothers Thomas and Samuel. As brothers and siters of the half-blood didn't inherit under the commonlaw we can therfore say with certaint that the other children of another mother..."
Was this always the case? Is there any other evidence of another wife?
