Yes there are lots of Losees on record. Joseph Clapp enlisted in the Prince Edward Regiment (militia) during the War of 1812 and died at Kingston. It would stand to reason that his brother-in-law might have gone with him. Have you looked at Early Ontario Records, at
www.tbaytel.net/bmartin/earlyont.htm? It his link doesn't work, just go to the Ontario Genweb site and select Lennox and Addington and you can get to it from there.
As for the Stryker book, I believe there are a number of them deposited in local libraries nearly everywhere. I know for certain there's one in Picton Library, which is not exactly a mega-collection. I would think that if we have it, it should be reasonably accessible.
