My line of (related) descent is Rebecca Klapp (my GG Grandmother m. William Mitchell, Philadelphia Pa.), Dr. Joseph Klapp (b. Albany NY, moved to Phila. Pa, m. Anna Milnor), Henry Klapp (of Albany NY, changed his spelling from Clapp to Klapp, m. Mary or Maria Ostrom), Joseph Klapp (brother of your Henry Clapp who married Jemima in New York; moved up the Hudson from Rye NY I beleive, m. Mercy Carpenter,)Elias Clapp who married Ruth Allen (dau. of Henry and Ruth (Udall) Allen in New York, John Clapp who married Dorothy Ray (d/o Simon Ray) in New York, John Clapp who married Mrs. Clapp (this may have been Sebilla (spelling? Axtell, d/o Daniel Axtell (Jr.) who emigrated to South Carolina) in England (or in S. Carolina?) and George Gilson Clapp who married (wife's name not known?) in England. As you know, George Gilson and son John emigrated from England to South Carolina and then eventually to Westchester Co. New York.
