I am searching for James Byron CLAPP. I think he was born in Tennessee about 1830-1850. He was in Co. C, 1st Tennessee Volunteer Cavalry. He married a widow, Amanda (Stair) GADDIS, who already had one son, Oscar Columbus Gaddis. Together they had a son, Howard and a daughter, Georgie. It is believed that he adopted Oscar. If anyone has any information on James Byron CLAPP or on his wife, Amanda, please contact me. I would greatly appreciate any help. Thank you.
