It is complete speculation without any form of documentation that John Clanton (emigrant to Virginia) was the father of Marmaduke Clanton, or that Marmaduke was the father of Edward Clanton. There is proof that Edward was father of William, father of John, father of John Jr, father of Henry. I descend from Henry's brother Drury. Again, it is mere speculation that John or Marmaduke were actual ancestors of Edward....and there is circumstantial evidence that Edward was also an immigrant from England, as Marmaduke also appears to be.
