Bob -- You didn't indicate whether you have Clancy ancestry, but of course I can't imagine why you would be on this Genforum otherwise.
Most county records are at the courthouse.I think it's best to go to the county courthouse and look up the deeds, wills and marriage records on the spot.If you're not within driving distance of the county in which you want to research in, you would want to get the microfilms.The Family History Library in Salt Lake City has mostof the records you would want to review on microfilm. Depending on where you live, the best course may be to get the films you want through your local branch Family History Library.
Census films are available through any number of sources, including the branches of the National Archives and major university libraries.
Some censuses are available on line; a few are free (see rootsweb.com).See Ancestry.com for what they have available for a modest fee.There are quite a few censuses -- especially the early ones -- that are searchable through that source for a modest fee.
