I'm interested in finding additional information about my grandfather, Robert Hamilton Clampitt. The info I do have is that he was born in Trenton, NJ, probably in 1885. He attended Columbia University. He died in St. Petersburg, FL, in 1932. But I don't know anything about his parents or where he came from. There is a tradition in the family that the "Hamilton" in his name is because he is descended from Alexander Hamilton, but I am unable to make that connection, having no information on his parentage. Anyone out there familiar with this branch of the family?
