Please provide me with some correction if needed and clarification on Richard CLAMPET/CLAMPITT born in Stokes Co.,NC on 20 May 1793 son of Richard Edward CLAMPET/CLAMPITT (DE)and Elizabeth MASTEN (DE). So far my records show that Richard married Gemina MATTHEWS on 3 May 1818 in Stokes Co., NC. Also, that Gemina died about 1840. At some time (Aft. March 1828) Richard and Gemina moved to IN. It appears that Richard may have left IN according to my records. Per NC Marriage Bonds Richard CLAMPITT married Precilla BIGGS on 28 August 1848 in Stokes Co., NC (Precilla formerly was married to Zaccariah BIGS on 14 May 1833 in Stockes Co., NC and Robert DEMENT married Pricilla HARDEN on 6 July 1816 in Granville Co., NC). I find in the 1850 Census of Forsyth Co., NC Richard CLAMPER (age 57)is listed with Priscilla (age 50) and her three sons William, Zachariah and Henry BIGGS. In the 1860 Census of Hancock Co., TN Richard CLAMPET (age 70 of NC) and Priscilla (age 65 of NC) are listed. Here is where I loose them. I found on a website that Richard CLAMPET died abt. 1885 in IN. Where does this come from? Any information is appreciated.
