The court to which Samuel Clampet's charge of murder was to be held decided that because of lack of evidence, the charges would be dropped. I have details somewhere. It was from book of court records of Camden Court. More later when I find my notes.

Clampets are a feisty bunch. His son, Victor, was charged with stealing slaves.
