Govea Clampitt married a Mary Melvin, widow of John Melvin, about 1775 probably Kent Co, DE. He later married a Sarah Clifford 1788 in Orange Co, NC. They had the following children: Elizabeth 1789, John 1791, Celey 1795, Henry 1799, Sarah 1802, Mary 1805, Rachael 1811, James 1816. Does anyone know what happened to his wife, Mary Melvin, when and where she died? It looks like the Clampitts, Melvins and Sullivans may have all come out to Orange Co, NC together. Does anyone have any information on this family?
