Clampett Family Centre - update

December 2002

Did you know that the earliest family member for whom there is definite information, is Robert De Clampytte who was awarded the Freedom of the City of Exeter in Devon, England in 1331?

Do you know how many roads, streets and buildings carry the family name? There is also a park and a waterfall named after members of the family.

The web site is now available in a few different spellings of the name and efforts are undergoing to get more registered.

www.clampit.net
www.clampitte.net

This site is a centre for the world-wide Clampett family, including surnames Clampet, Clampeth, Clampitt, Clampit, Clampytte, Clampette, Clampot, Clampat, Clamput, etc. There are nearly 20 variations of the family name on the family tree with about 3,500 names listed.

It is now possible to get email addresses in the family name (e.g. elizabeth@clampit.net) and also space for your own web pages (e.g. www.clampett.net/mary/ or www.clampit.net/robert/, etc)

A considerable amount of time and effort has gone into updating the family tree which is still ongoing. The information has mainly come from the large number of emails received from members of the family and has included photographs and other documents of interest, many of which are available on the web site. If you have submitted updates please be patient as they will be processed, but do feel free to contact the webmaster again if you have not had a reply.

Please contribute to the family centre by checking the information for your own branch of the family and by sending in corrections and updates. The help of every member of the family is needed as the family tree still contains many gaps and inaccuracies and separate branches which could be joined together.

Do visit the family centre and let me have your feedback.

Regards,

Wyndham Clampett
