Looking for ancestors of Charles F. Claiborne, b 1846 place unknown), d. 1934, Dyer Tn. Married Susan A Light (b. 1852?) in 1865, after Civil war. Children: Lila, died young, Worth b. 1870's (?), Huard C b 1879, Addie b. 1881, Light V b. 1885, and Irvin Palmer b. 1888 (husband's grandfather)
It appears, from 1880 census that he had brother Robert, b. 1839, who married Eugenia F, b. 1848. Their children were John W b. 1873, Robert A b. 1875, Annie L b. 1882, and Kate b. 1886.
Civil war applications for widows Susan and Eugenia exist.

I have found several censuses (1840-1860) where name is spelled "CLIBORNE", out of Granville N. Carolina. But, not certain that these are the same folks, just changed the spelling for some unknown reason. IF these are one & the same, father was Nathan T. CLIBORNE. But where is he originally from? Who are his parents/ siblings?
Can anyone help me verify any of the above? Or, if this is the wrong "rabbit trail", where I can find accurate parentage of Charles (and Robert) Claiborne?
Thanks for any help!!
Paula
