My Richard Claiborne, Rev War, was for a time Secretary to Governer Claiborne of Losisiana, before becoming a Judge. The Governer is the one that said he didn't know of a family connection to our Richard, but several of the Governer older cousin said that their father knew Richard and that there was a family connection.

The book "Claiborne of Virginia Descendants of Colonel William Claliborne The First Eight Generations" by John Frederick Dorman in collaboration with Clairborne T. Smith, Jr., M.D. Appendix C is about Richard. The first foot note is: James Barnwell Heyward, "Heyward" (n.p.. ca. 1925)pp 54-60, South Carolina Historical Society, Charleston, S.C.

That footnote also include reference to Mary Tudor (G.E. Cokayne, The Complete Peerage, II [London, 1912],pp. 140-41).
