Does anyone know the connection between the William Claiborne family of Va. and Louisiana and the Woodliefs of Va. No. Carolina and Louisiana? Thomas Woodlief of Va. and No. Carolina married Elizabeth Claiborne in Va. ca. 1790-1800. They had several children. They moved to N. Carolina after 1815, Peter William Woodlief one of their sons moved to New Orleans and owned a well know dry goods store. He married Louise Modeste Bouligny. Her father was Dominique Bouligny. Another son Devereaux J. Woodlief also moved to New Orleans and then to Texas. He married Harriet Jane Reynolds from New York City. Her father was Allen C. Reynolds from New York City. Col. Devereaux J Woodlief and his wife Harriet Jane had a daughter Harriet Modeste Woodlief born in Ft.Bend Texas. 1844.Can anyone give me some info. regarding the Claibornes and the Woodlife connections?
Thank you
Regards,
L.Scott
