Looking for information on descendants of James and Ophelia Claiborne, married 1857 in Independence Co., Arkansas. Ophelia is the daughter of Madison Claiborne Napier who moved to Batesville, Arkansas about 1855. Ophelia visited her sister Mary Rey in Batesville in 1862 just prior to Mary Rey and her husband and son leaving for France to avoid the war. Mary and Ophelia cooresponded until Mary died in 1876 in London. Ophelia was alive at that time but James had died about 1875 and left Ophelia with numerous children. Where the coorespondence came from, I do not know. Any info on descendants would be great.
