Who is this Richard Claiborne, Rev. soldier? Is he kin to Gen.Ferdinand Leigh and his brother Gov. WCC Claiborne?
Marriages & Deaths from MS Newspapers, Vol. 2, 1810-1850 by Betty C. Wiltshire, Heritage Books, Bowie, MD, 1989, pg. 120, from the MS State Gazette, Natchez:
March 24, 1819. Died in the city on Thursday morning last, Richard Claiborne, Esq., Clerk of the U. S. District Court, aged 67 years. He served during the Revolutionary War, part of the time as aide to Maj. Gen. Green, and at the battle of Guilford.
Thanks for any help.
Sue M.
