Your posting of 09-07-03, which I just recently discovered, came very close to home. The picture you described, unless I am mistaken, was taken in the summer of 1904 following Henry and Ellen Edmunds' visit to her sister Mary Alice Howard Claflin and family in Providence, RI. The Claflins: Arthur Whitman Claflin, his wife Mary Alice, and their two children, Albert Whitman Claflin (my father, then age 19, second from left in the picture)and Louisa Howard Claflin, accompanied Henry and Ellen on their return trip to England(via RMS Baltic), visited the Edmunds and Ellen's and Mary Alice's brother Albert Harris Howard and his family, who lived nearby, and then went on to tour various countries in Europe. My mother, Harriet Ames Fuller Claflin, corresponded with the Dorothy Edmunds who lived in Perth, possibly Cicely's aunt, less likely Cicely's sister. I would be glad to learn of your progress in uncovering Edmunds' family lines. William Howard Claflin
